This Sunday, Mike McClung continued his discussion of the Feasts of the Lord with a message on “The Feast of Weeks/Pentecost”. As the work of the Spirit removes the leaven of sin, self, and the strength of the natural life from our lives, we draw near to Pentecost. This is the filling of the prepared corporate vessel to the point of overflowing with the resurrection life of Jesus Christ. We imagine the Holy Spirit is poured out from some cloud above us, but the truth is, when the obstacles of sin and independence are “reckoned as dead” on the Cross and removed, the Holy Spirit erupts out of His many individual vessels to create “rivers of living water” that effect the entire region.
