This Sunday, Mike McClung shared a message from the Christlikeness series, called “Mature Love.” In our walk and growth with the Lord, there are many important character lessons to learn, but as it says in I Cor. 13:13, “…the greatest of these is love.” Mature love is the ultimate expression of Christlikeness, because it is not love with human or worldly origins. Only God can love like God, and when our love is mature, it is Christ’s love in us that motivates everything we do. This is the aim of the Holy Spirit’s work in us, not that we would love God or others “because of” anything, but that the God-who-is-love would shine through our earthen vessels.
