This Sunday, Mike McClung shared another message from the Christlikeness series, called “A New Government.” Man was designed to exist under the Headship of God. But at the Fall, Adam rebelled, and by his choice, came under the government of Satan. Ever since then, humanity has needed some kind of external law to control its selfishness, rebellion and lust. Redemption means that we have been freed from sin, Satan and the outward law to become captives of love. It means that our freedom is now ours to give away. We must invest our freedom as love-slaves of Christ, or we will surely find ourselves back in bondage to the law, sin or self as we try to keep our freedom for ourselves.
