This Sunday, Mike McClung returned to the Song of Solomon. This message delves into the end of Chapter 4, and starts Chapter 5. These verses explore the seasons of our lives where the Lord begins to deal with the natural life within us. The Bridal Soul has devoted herself to the Lord, and wants to live a holy life. This is where the fruit of the Lord has grown within us, and He wants to take us to a deeper place of maturity. So He invites His “friends” to eat our fruit, and trample on our garden. It is a picture of the Lord using circumstances and people, including His leaders, to strip away our self-defense mechanisms and natural life barriers. The end result is a corporate vessel of the Lord that is in perfect agreement with Him: His Bride.
