Description
This Sunday, Mike McClung took time to review a series on Covenant Relationships by sharing a message called, “Covenant in the Local Fellowship.” Many people and leaders in the Body of Christ see the local fellowship as a “spiritual buffet” where the individual gets whatever they want or they move on. The reality is that congregational membership is a calling from God. He places us where He wants us. (1 Cor. 12:18). This means that we must forge covenant between our family and our local congregation in the areas of vision, attendance, participation, giving and leadership. Rather than a “one-way street” relationship that most of the Body of Christ walks in, each member must walk in humility and contribution their piece to the larger whole. If we do, we’ll find the blessing and life of Christ we never grasped from our “buffet” mentality.
